A shuttle bus at dusk, drawn as a glowing wireframe, with seated riders and a wheelchair rider inside; callouts point to ride comfort in the cabin, stops and dwell at the passenger door, and a pothole under the front wheel marked road versus driver.

Why it matters

Four questions about every ride. Answer them with a record.

Riders, families, the agency and your dispatch all ask them.
Today the answer is a driver's word, a clip and a guess.

01 · The ride

Was every ride smooth?

A Ride Report for every trip.
Every brake, start, turn and jolt, with time, speed and force.

02 · The curb

How long did we wait at the door?

Every stop, timed to the second.
Curb stops told apart from traffic lights.
Door and ramp open time, from the door sensor.

03 · The complaint

Was it the road or the driver?

A jolt that repeats at the same spot is the road.
The rest is driving.
Coach the drivers, and send the potholes to the city.

04 · The route

Which stops cost every bus minutes?

Every stop matched to your transit stop list.
In the zone, short of it, or across the street.
Dwell per stop, per route.

A record of the ride and the wait, and no patient data.

Shuttles & microtransit

Fixed loops and on-demand zones.
Stops, dwell and ride quality on every run.
Nothing for the driver to tap.

Transit buses

Fixed route · stop by stop

Agencies and contracted operators.

Built on daXos measurement

Not a slide deck. Real measurements.

It runs on the daXos loggers and platform.
The sample Ride Report is a real recording.
The other samples use generated data.

  1. Fitted in minutes

A logger behind the dash, a sensor by the door.

No wiring, no OBD port, no tablet.
Nothing for the driver to do.

  2. Every second

    Motion measured, not guessed.

1-second GPS and continuous motion sensing.
Every brake, turn and jolt is checked against the GPS.

  3. Road vs driver

The road, mapped by the fleet.

Each jolt is compared with other passes at the same spot.
In the sample, 7 of 14 jolts hit known potholes and joints.

Pilot · The Bus

Feeds say where. Not how it rides.

GTFS was born in Portland in 2005.
Real-time feeds add where each bus is.
None of it says how the bus brakes or rides.
The Bus package adds that layer to your stops.

Pilot Pilot program · $30 / bus / mo

All four stopped within 30 m of the same pole.
A radius check calls all four "at the stop".
Curb distance and heading tell them apart.
01 · STOP-AWARE DWELL

In the bus zone, or across the street?

Every stop matched to your GTFS stop list.
Ahead of or behind the pole, and how far from the curb.
On test trips, 4 stops near a bus stop were on the cross street.
A radius check would have flagged all four.

Plain answers

What passenger fleets want to know.

Who owns the devices?

daXos does.
Loggers and sensors ship with the subscription and are renewed at year 4.
They come back to us if you stop.
Nothing to buy, nothing to depreciate.

How is it fitted?

The logger goes behind the dash or under a seat.
The sensor sticks by the passenger or ramp door.
A bus gets two, one at each door.
No wiring, no OBD port, nothing on the driver's phone.
Minutes per vehicle, and your drivers do nothing.

Is there a camera or a microphone?

No.
daXos measures the vehicle, not the people in it.
It sits beside your cameras and does not replace them.

Can it tell the road from the driver?

Yes.
Each jolt is compared with other passes at the same spot.
A jolt that repeats there is the road.
Hard brakes, quick starts and sharp turns are driving.
Each event in the Ride Report says which, and why.

Can we use it in a no-show or late-pickup dispute?

The Stops & Dwell Sheet shows when the vehicle stopped and for how long.
With a door sensor, it shows when the door opened and closed, to the second.
It is a record of what the vehicle did.
How your contract weighs it is your call.

Do you hold rider or patient information?

No.
daXos does not need rider names, addresses or health details.
It does not act as a HIPAA business associate.
Keep riders out of vehicle names, notes and geofences.
Link trips to riders in your own systems if you need to.

Can you use our agency's GTFS feed?

Yes.
The Bus package reads the agency's published GTFS stop list.
It matches every stop to that list.
The Bus package is a pilot program.
Tell us your agency and routes below.

What is in a package?

A Van & Shuttle package is one logger, one door sensor and the dashboard, for $25 a month.
A Bus package is one logger, two door sensors and the dashboard, for $30 a month.
The logger records every trip and every stop.
The sensors watch the doors and the cabin temperature.

Who owns the data, and how long is it kept?

You do.
Export it any time through the dashboard, API or MCP.
Raw measurements are deleted at three months, unless we agree longer in writing.
Everything goes when you leave.

Is there a minimum fleet size?

Online orders start at 5 packages.
Vans, shuttles and buses all count.
If you run fewer, tell us about your fleet below.
